Coalition for Glen Cove

Glen Cove Schools fine arts coordinator, Nomi Rosen speaks at Coalition meeting.

Nomi Rosen, the new fine arts coordinator for the Glen Cove schools, was the invited speaker at an open meeting of the Coalition for Glen Cove at 7:30 PM on Monday, September 18th, 2006, at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 28 Highland Road, Glen Cove.

Ms. Rosen’s thirty-five year career has been in music and theater education with an emphasis on improvisation and creative thinking. As arts coordinator for the Greenburgh, NY, school system she heightened the visibility of the visual and performing arts and built connections between the arts and the community and between the arts and core academic subjects.

This fall a new string program in the Glen Cove schools, beginning with students in the third grade, will soon allow the district to have an orchestra for the first time in many years.
