Leslie Whitely is sending out 350 invitations for the upcoming Coalition Brunch on Saturday, May 1st from 9 to 11 AM. The cost is $25.00 and Ronnie Lavine is handling the RSVP's. The brunch will be at Steamboat Landing.
The brunch will honor Larry Blake, Assistant to the Superintendent for Business and Frank Bouza, Superintendent of Buildings and Grounds.
The Coalition will support Carol Sucharski , current board member who will be running for re-election on May 18th. We will run an ad in the local papers as well as send out fliers in support of Carol and the school budget.
Leslie Whitely has organized a realtors breakfast at Deasy School on April 27th. The guests will be given a tour of the school and have an opportunity to talk with Dr. Freeley about our school district. They will receive information on the schools which they can share with their clients.
Don will talk to Maria Reyes about organizing a Community Leaders Open House before the budget vote.
Ted Holmes continues to receive membership contributions.
Steve Gonzalez' interview of Mary Berhang, Physical Education Coordinator, appeared recently in the Glen Cove Record Pilot and the Gold Coast Gazette.
A special meeting was held in March to discuss issues with potential school board candidates for spaces opening up on the board in upcoming years.
The Academic Excellence Committee will be meeting on April 14th at 7:30PM at Beverly Granger's house. The committee will be discussing progress made this year as well as their concerns. Please contact Helen Kotzky at 674-4130 if you would like to join our committee or attend a meeting.
