Meeting AgendaMarch 7, 2005, 7:30 PM at St. Paul’s Episcopal Churchcoalitiongc.org The date of the March Coalition meeting has been changed to Monday, 7 March, because the school board has scheduled a budget meeting on the original date of our meeting. Susan Breen, who was scheduled to speak at the snowed-out February meeting, will speak at the September meeting. Six people, Helen Kotzky, Fred Moore, Drew Fonrose, Sean Dwyer, Frank Bouza, and Bill Richardson have said that they will run for Glen Cove school board in May. All the candidates, except Bill Richardson, who could not be reached, have been invited to submit resumes to the Coalition. Helen, Fred, Drew, and Sean have submitted resumes and ballots will be sent to Coalition members to choose which two to endorse for the two open seats on the board. Ballots should be returned to Ronnie Lavine for counting. Ted Holmes will send out letters asking for contributions to the Coalition for this year’s school budget and school board campaigns. John DeMarino has talked with Jerry Cicchelli about having people speak about the school budget at meetings of community organizations. Members of the school administration will speak at some organizations and John and others will speak at others. Claudia Delgrosso is organizing a letter writing and phone campaign suggesting that Coalition members write their neighbors to encourage them to vote for the school budget and asking each member to call several neighbors the day before the election asking them to come vote with them. Leslie Whitely will organize a meeting in one of the school buildings for Glen Cove real estate agents. We will encourage a meeting in a school building for community leaders. The Coalition sent copies of the new 2005 Community Organizations and Leaders list, compiled by Fern Lindenbaum, to the 100 organizations on the list. |
