James Lethbridge, principal of Glen Cove’s Finley Middle School, will be the speaker at the December meeting. Mr. Lethbridge, who joined the Glen Cove school district in September, has Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from the State University of New York at Oswego and has administrative certification from Hofstra University. He taught for seventeen years in the Bellmore-Merrick district as a technology teacher, director of a youth recreation program, dean of students, and assistant principal. Mr Lethbridge will be introduced by Helen Kotzky.

We took an ad for $50 in the Deasy-Landing Dinner program and one for $100 for one year in the St. Paul’s Epistle.

Some of the suggestions we have had for speakers at the next few Coalition meetings are: Ira Cooper, the new mathematics coordinator; and Susan Breen, the new English coordinator;

Edward Thomas, the new high school assistant principal, will explain the new teaming program for ninth graders at the high school at the next school board meeting.

Mike Norman has agreed to interview Larry Blake, the school sistrict assistant superintendent for business, about school district revenues from property taxes, State aid, and Federal aid.

Steve Gonzalez has agreed to interview Mary Berhang, the school district athletic coordinator.

Sophie Zimmerman, an original Coalition member and longtime Brunch organizer will be leaving Glen Cove.
