Recently Achieved
The Coalition has
endorsed Janet Bates-Wilkins and Natheley McElrath for school board.
(Robert Germino, Kurt Schmeller, and Rick Smith seem to be
the other candidates).
Natheley McElrath has
submitted a petition to put a referendum on the ballot to have the
school board term changed from five years to three years.
Leslie Whitely has
arranged a meeting on April 24th between Dr. Freeley and
Glen Cove, Locust Valley, Sea Cliff, and Glen Head real estate
brokers.
We have an information
brochure about the Glen Cove schools. We can supply copies for your
neighbors.
Reports
Janet Bates-Wilkins and
Natheley McElrath (and Rick Smith) spoke to the Glen Cove Lions club
as school board candidates.
Contributions to the
election campaign are coming in.
Janet has arranged for
David Sidikman, our representative in the New York State Assembly,
to speak about school aid at a public meeting on Thursday, April 26th,
at 8 PM in Glen Cove City Hall
Natheley and Ian Siegel
arranging a fundraising brunch on Saturday, April 28th at
9 AM at Steamboat Landing Restaurant on Shore Road. Tickets are $25,
and $50.

Leslie Whitely has
distributed bookmarks and will continue to do so.
Barbara Dubin and
Ronnie Lavine will send absentee ballots requests to homes of
graduates of the past four years.
Nancy Cleary is working
on a third visit to the schools by leaders of community
organizations .
