Wife, Elizabeth, is a retired ESL teacher who taught in the district for 30 years, Two children, Frank and Susan, attended and graduated from the Glen Cove High School. Susan, currently teaches 4th grade at Connolly School. Oldest granddaughter, Haley, attends Gribbin School

Family

Resident of Glen Cove for over 20 years. Have been married to Ilene, a New York City teacher specializing in ESL, for 22 years. Our daughter, Kate, graduated from Princeton University in 2005, and is currently enrolled at Fordham Law. Our son, Jeffery, graduated from the University of Albany in 2007 and is currently enrolled at Hunter College graduate school of education. Both are graduates of Glen Cove High School.

Glen Cove CDA Section 8 Program Administrator, responsible for overseeing the Federal Rent Assistance Program for over 340 local families. Minority Business/WBE Equal Opportunity Officer for the City of Glen Cove. Had a studio in mid-town Manhattan for 6 years

Community Service

Vice president of the Glen Cove school board for the past year and board member for three years, Melillo Center board member, Mentor in the Glen Cove Youth Bureau Mentoring Program, Former member of the Glen Cove EOC Board,

Former coach for CYO basketball and for the Glen Cove Jr. Soccer League. Founding member and vice president of the Hempstead Harbor Artist Association from 1980 to 1994, Initiated a monthly showcase for artists in Glen Cove.

Family

Graduate of the Glen Cove Schools, parent of a Gribbin School kindergartener. He and his wife, Stacey, are the parents of Eva, a Gribbin School kindergartener, and Nathaniel, who will enter kindergarten next year, and are anticipating the arrival of their 3rd child in August.

Education

BA from Tufts University, Law degree from SUNY at Buffalo,

Employment

Practicing law for 13 years, managing partner of Sunshine & Feinstein. Primary practice includes litigation (commercial, contract and matrimonial), business law, and real estate, have handled six education law cases.

Community Service

Active in the Glen Cove Schools for the past 23 years. Attorney Advisor for GCHS’ Mock Trial Team for 9 years.

Co-founder and president of the Glen Cove Endowment for Music & Arts Education. Board member of the Glen Cove Education Foundation. Executive Board of the Morgan Park Summer Music Festival. Coach for GC Jr. Softball/Baseball. Legal counsel for the Center for Science Teaching & Learning.

Appointed to the Board of Education’s Capital Deficiencies Assessment Commission that will recommend capital improvements to school buildings.It would be beneficial to have one school board member who is an attorney and understands retainer agreements, law firm bills, insurance issues, litigation costs and results, and other issues that arise regularly on the Board of Education’s agenda.
